Our client operates in the team communication software niche, where competition is intense and search visibility plays a critical role. To support their growth, we analyzed leading competitors and built a strategy around high-intent keywords such as “competitor alternative” and other commercially relevant search terms.

The starting point of the campaign:

Month 1

At the beginning of the campaign, the site had limited authority and only a small number of ranking keywords. The initial metrics were modest: DR 11, 61 keywords, and almost no meaningful organic traffic. To build momentum, we focused on creating 12–18 relevant backlinks per month.

The biggest challenge was finding placements that were not only high quality but also topically relevant. Through careful outreach and niche selection, we secured links from websites with an average DR of 70+ and strong organic traffic profiles.

To strengthen topical relevance even further, we used branded and product-related anchor strategies and focused only on websites aligned with the client’s niche. This relevance-first approach helped build a stronger SEO foundation.

Month 4

As the backlink profile improved, we became more selective and started targeting even stronger placements. At this stage, it was no longer just about the number of links — quality became even more important.

By the middle of the campaign, the backlink profile was noticeably stronger. Domain Rating increased from 11 to 32, while ranking keywords grew from 61 to 108.

Month 8

In the later months, we expanded the strategy with content contributions, listicle placements, and highly relevant contextual backlinks. These tactics gave the campaign an additional push, and the results became much more visible.

By the end of the eighth month, DR reached 49, keyword visibility continued to grow, and the site’s organic traffic increased to 214.

Summary

Starting with a relatively low-authority website is never easy, especially in competitive SaaS niches. However, with the right outreach process, relevant placements, and consistent monthly execution, strong growth is absolutely achievable. By the end of the campaign, several target keywords ranked significantly higher in search results, and the client had built a much stronger SEO presence than where they started.
